Poems
Stanzas- groups of words in a poem
Figurative language- a phrase that
says something but doesn’t really show its real meaning.
Ex: The sun was beating me down. =
The sun was so hot, I was getting tired
In this sentence the sun doesn’t
actually beat you down.
Poems don’t always have to rhyme
Rhyme pattern is the pattern of
rhymes
Ex: Bored at home. A
With nothing to say. B
I hear the same stories every day. B
Lost in time, ‘cause I’m sleeping. C
And also when I’m reading. C
Each two lines that rhyme get the
same letter.
